Paola Hivelin est une artiste plasticienne, curatrice et productrice française, née à Ajaccio (France) en 1975.
Elle co-fonde le collectif artistique Gang of Witches, actif de 2016 à 2022.
Elle vit et travaille à Ibiza (Espagne) depuis 2019.
Sa création est intimement liée à un travail psychanalytique au long cours, dont elle matérialise les mouvements d’individuation.
Déployée à travers la peinture, la sculpture et l’installation, son œuvre agit comme un miroir de l’inconscient, d’où émergent des créatures et des cartographies de la psyché.
La puissance féminine constitue l’un des axes majeurs de sa recherche.
En 2019, elle inscrit la souveraineté féminine au cœur du Coven, son projet monumental en devenir.
Son installation dans ce lieu ouvre un nouveau champ de travail : le développement d’une relation avec le monde naturel.
Autodidacte, Paola Hivelin développe une pratique fondée sur l’usage et l’assemblage de matériaux simples, souvent issus de son environnement quotidien.
Ses œuvres procèdent par accumulations et stratifications ; elles se construisent parfois sur plusieurs années, au fil d’un processus où les états psychiques traversés s’inscrivent dans la matière même.
Sa recherche se traduit par une esthétique aussi brute que précieuse.
L’œil y apparaît comme une forme récurrente, à la fois symbole et unité de composition, traversant la peinture, la sculpture et l’installation.
Depuis 2024, sa peinture se déploie à travers des compositions abstraites de modules monochromes déclinés en plusieurs tonalités, de miroirs, et de feuilles de métal.
Ce travail pictural s’étend désormais au bâtiment du Coven.
Ses sculptures, toujours peintes, prolongent ce même vocabulaire. Le module y occupe une place centrale : unité élémentaire de sa construction, il peut apparaître comme œuvre autonome ou entrer dans des assemblages sculpturaux de différentes échelles.
De ce répertoire organique et symbolique émergent des compositions vibrantes et singulières, à la portée archétypale.

Self-taught, Paola Hivelin has developed a practice grounded in the use and assemblage of simple materials, often drawn from her everyday environment.
Her works proceed through accumulations and stratifications; they are sometimes built over several years, through a process in which the psychic states she undergoes become inscribed in the material itself.
Her work is marked by an aesthetic that is as raw as it is precious.
The eye appears as a recurring form, functioning both as symbol and compositional unit across painting, sculpture, and installation.
Since 2024, her painting has unfolded through abstract compositions of monochrome modules in multiple tonalities, mirrors, and sheets of metal.
This pictorial work has also extended onto the Coven’s building.
Her sculptures, always painted, continue this same vocabulary. The module occupies a central place: as an elementary unit of her construction, it can appear as an autonomous work or enter into sculptural assemblages of different scales.
From this organic and symbolic repertoire emerge vibrant and singular compositions with archetypal resonance.
